Sacred Sin
If a vow is sacred, then can't a sin be as well?
What constitutes that fine line, what defines 'sacred', 'vow', and 'sin'?
Tell me that you haven't felt bliss in the wrong times-like a stifled laughter you sing along with nature's karma..
Haven't you ever felt peace in the stillness, sharing in twin breaths, and a secret sigh?
Have you ever had those moments of ‘goodbye', holding tighter to their fingertips, so they don't slip away?
Of whom do you dream about in the darkest hours of night, do they dance in your mind when you can't sleep?
Is there one you think about, reaching for their ghost-calling out their name in your slumber?
I have loved in these moments, you see- found solace and empathy in these secret affairs..
My lover, my secret admirer, my burning need, I vow to always love you and your words spilling out.
Us choosing this together, in secret or not, isn't that sacred?
Even in the most uncertain of times, you do the same for me, tenderly.
Your sacred simple being, enveloping all that I am..
Stealing kisses in the moonlight, confessing your truth to me, 'I need you, I love you.'
Those moments we spent together, hidden from view-so blissfully, beautifully crafted.
Are sacred to only us, even if it's wrong.
What is this that resides inside my energy- is it a need or a want that I have?
I'll try to define it, understand it, grasping it wrongfully in my hands.
But it is love nonetheless- whether it's right or it's wrong, you see it's love.
When you feel it, maybe it's needed- even if it's a sin or a shared fantasy...
That's what's sacred, the feeling only love can conjure.
You, my secret lover, I promise part of my heart to.
It's a secret oath we have- a sinful sacred vow
Be it a sin or a vow, it's all sacred somehow
